If you’re like many Americans who have tried countless weight loss programs and failed, then you have come to the right place. We tend to be a people of instant gratification, wanting instant results on the scale. This just isn’t realistic or healthy. Just remember:

Consistency is key. Think about how long it takes for you to fill up your gas tank vs. how many days you have to drive around to empty it. Similarly, you could eat a few slices of pizza in a matter of minutes, but it may take you several days, even weeks to burn those calories off. Understanding how calories work is part of the education you will receive from me. Weekly weigh-ins, keeping a food journal, and sending me pictures of what you’re eating are all part of the accountability.

Just to give you an idea of why it’s important to be patient, here is a picture of what fat looks like by poundage. Remember, 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories. If you burned or ate 5oo calories less each day, this would translate to 1 pound of fat loss each week. 1-2 pounds a week is a realistic and SAFE weight loss.

Nutrition Counseling

As a rule of thumb, nutrition is responsible for 70-80% of weight loss. Having a well designed exercise program along with an individualized meal plan is the key to losing weight and reaching your goals. Our bodies each react differently to food and it’s my job as a nutrition professionals to figure out the best meal plan for you. People are all very busy with work and family, so changing our food habits should be realistic and manageable, not tedious and discouraging.
